The 2011 Touch season got off to a chilly, but spectacular start last Saturday on Aberdeen Sports Village’s impressive indoor pitches.

/media/uploads/images/AberdeenTouchLogo.jpgAttracting international players from as far afield as London, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen, twelve teams competed fiercely in the second year of the Claret Jug, climaxing in a closely contested final between Meerkats and defending champions, Galaxy Scotland.

Delighted with the turn out, Graeme Buchan, Tournament Director commented,

“The interest in a tournament this early in the year shows how popular Touch rugby has become, although what was more encouraging to see, was the professionalism and increased skill level displayed by all the teams”
