Scottish Touch Seeks New National Squad Director

11 Jun 2015 @ 15:00 BST

Scottish Touch is looking to appoint a new National Squad Director following the resignation of David Bartlett from the position.

David joined the National Squad Management Committee in 2010, becoming its Director in 2011 and under his stewardship managed Scottish squads in two European Championships, a World Cup and a Home Nations tournament.  He leaves at the start of a new World Cup cycle, giving his successor the maximum amount of time to establish plans to take Scotland to Malaysia in 2019.

Scottish Touch President, David Matthew, said: "I want to thank David for all his hard work over the years, overseeing the management of the coaching teams, kit orders, tournament issues and the endless logistics that go with getting squads prepared for a major tournament in a variety of countries.  As if that was not enough, David also provided sound advice and contributions to the board of Scottish Touch over the past 6 years."

Scottish Touch will immediately open up bids for a new National Squad Director.  This is an exciting time for our sport at the elite level after the return of our largest foreign world cup squad.  We now have a growing investment in our youth internationalists to provide a pathway to the open teams and that means a swifter transition into stronger senior teams.  This is all backed up by one of the strongest groups of coaches in Europe.

The remit can be found here and any applications on form should be made to volunteers@scottishtouch.org.uk by Noon on Friday 26th June 2015.
