The Scottish National Squad Management Committee needs YOU!

11 Aug 2011 @ 11:00 BST

The NSMC (National Squad Management Committee) is the organising committee for the Scottish National Touch Squad, which contains men's, women's and mixed Touch teams.

The NSMC consists of a small dedicated group of volunteers, which meets roughly once a month in Edinburgh. We’re looking to recruit a few more enthusiastic volunteers for various roles within the committee to progress organisation for the 2012 European Championships in Italy.

We're specifically looking for people to take on the following roles:

  • finance
  • policies & procedures
  • website
  • sponsorship
  • squad training arrangements
  • kit
  • tournament organisation (travel/accommodation/physios)
  • coaching liaison

Some of these roles can be undertaken irrespective of your location without the necessity to come to Edinburgh on a regular basis. So please don't let geography be a barrier to you volunteering!

Following a successful 2011 World Cup, and with Touch gaining a higher profile across Scotland, this is a great opportunity to be involved in the sport and will be an exciting year for everyone involved.

We welcome both players and non-players. The variety of roles available offer great transferable experience, so not only will you be supporting the Scottish squad to compete in international competitions, you’ll be developing your own C.V. at the same time!

We’d love to hear from you if you’re interested in getting involved. We are also interested in hearing from people who are keen to take on a more general position on the committee (your opinions are valuable too), and those who’d like to help out but don't want to take on an official committee role.

Please contact the NSMC nsmc@scottishtouch.org.uk by August 31st to register your interest in any capacity, or if you have any questions about the roles.
